Even though parents like to consider that, their teen will come to them with a problem, the majority teens try to deal with Facebook cyber bullying on their own. Generally, teens will inform their parents of cyber bullying when they are unable to handle it themselves, or when the situation gets worse. This puts parents in a very critical situation where they must make a decision to trust their teen to come to them straight away if cyber bullying happens or to tiptoe on limits and spy on their teen's Facebook profile.
Gungroo has launched an app for parents to keep a watch on their teenagers on Facebook, which facilitates secure access for children to web services like Gmail, Facebook and YouTube,
The Facebook app has been created to lessen the worry of a parent. With this amazing app in place, a parent can keep at least check on the activities of their children on Facebook. In a way, the app provides a dashboard – an overview of their kids' social media activities like what they are posting or to whom they added as a friend. Nonetheless, the teen would not be aware of this monitoring activity.
Although, as a parent you can view only those posts that have public settings. The app has kept boundaries on adding more than one teen. For doing so you would need to invite four people for trying the app or you have to spend one$ from Facebook credit. Inviting friends is a great idea but monetizing with Facebook credits is too premature.
The Facebook app from Gungroo that we have reviewed above is quite essential right now and would need some modification. For example, an entire design could be made more attractive. Inviting teens’ option in this app has no search feature; if some better features could be added then it will become easier for parents to add them quickly rather than scroll through the whole list.
So, I hope the creators of the app will add some better features because just now the app looks like an existing feature called ‘Close Friends’ through which you can keep a trace of all their activities on Facebook.
