If you want to create a simple website, without spending any money on hosting and without the mess of file transfers, you should use Dropbox. You can very easily host your personalized website on Dropbox, with complete control of its design , look and with absolutely no file transfers.
We will be using DropPages for creating our website and hosting it on Dropbox. You need to have a Dropbox account and its application downloaded on your PC.
Inside Content folder, you will find your website's index page, where in you can add your HTML code directly. It will be a text file. Do not change it to an HTML file. After editing, save it in txt format only.
Inside Public folder, you will have your CSS file, where in you can add the required CSS code for your website. When you are done with the changes and have saved all the files, go to DropPages Account, and click on Publish now, to republish your website with new changes.
Go to your website's address and check out how it looks. Wasn't it simple? I found it simple and interesting too. Do comment if you face any problem, and also share your new Dropbox hosted website's link with us. Also, visit our webpage on Dropbox, wtfdiary.droppages.com ( LOL ).
You do need to have some knowledge of HTML and CSS to design the website because you won't get much options with template and design. Also there are limits on the traffic - 10 GB for a free account and 250 GB for a paid account.
