How to reload you BlackBerry Operating System after App Error 523 'reset'

App Error 523 is something very common for Blackberry Mobile phone users, you will definitely come across this error, if you use any old Blackberry device. Although post getting this error, the first thought that will hit your brain might be that your phone is dead and its time to buy a new one. But wait, we do have a solution for this problem. Simply install the Blackberry Operating System again.

But before that you must try restarting your phone, by removing the battery and then inserting it back after 10 seconds (HARD Reset). If you are lucky, you might not have to go into the trouble of re installing the software. If that doesn't work, then follow the steps below, and in the next 10 minutes(hopefully) your Blackberry will come back to life.

1)  Download and Install the Blackberry Desktop Manager. You can download it from blackberry's website, by navigating to this link : http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html
If you are a Mac OS user, download the one for Mac and if you are a Windows OS user, download the one for PC.

2)  If you have faced this problem for the first time, and have never before installed Operating System into your mobile phone, then first download a copy of Operating System from BlackBerry's website.

3)  You may select any Service Provider from your region and download the Operating System file for you Blackberry Model(by choosing Model from the list). After downloading the file, please install this Operating System, by following some simple steps.

4)  Once you have successfully installed your Blackberry OS onto your computer, you can see a new folder named "Research in Motion" created in your common files.
For 64 bit system :
Computer > C Drive > Program Files(x86) > Common Files > Research in Motion
For 32 bit system:
Computer > C Drive > Program Files > Common Files > Research in Motion

5)  Now the next step is to delete the vendor file from the Operating System, so that when the next time you try to update the phone, it installs complete Operating System onto it.

6)  So go to, Research in Motion directory (as mentioned in point 4), you will find a directory named AppLoader there. Go in AppLoader, and delete permanently the vendor.xml file.

7)  After successfully deleting the vendor.xml file, Please restart your Computer (just for precaution) just to refresh the system and all the newly installed applications.

8)  After restarting you computer, Connect your Blackberry Phone, Press "Windows + R" to open Run, or simply open Start Menu and go to Run, and copy and paste this exact line there and click on OK.
For 64 bit system :
"c:\Program Files (x86)\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
For 32 bit system :
"c:\Program Files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm

9)  The Application Loader Wizard will appear -> click "Next."

10)  In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button. Or you might see you own PIN, doesn't really matter.

11)  You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Congrats! Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
